Cameron Brink Injury Update

Sparks' Brink Suffers Torn ACL

Rookie Forward Injured in Connecticut

The Los Angeles Sparks have suffered a major blow to their playoff hopes.

Rookie forward Cameron Brink suffered a left torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in a game against the Connecticut Sun on Sunday. The injury occurred in the first quarter of the Sparks' 79-70 loss. Brink was carried off the court and did not return to the game.

The Sparks announced the injury on Monday morning. The team said that Brink will undergo surgery to repair the torn ACL. The recovery time for an ACL injury is typically 6-9 months, which would sideline Brink for the rest of the season.

Brink was a key part of the Sparks' success this season. She started 15 games and averaged 8.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game. Her injury is a major setback for the Sparks, who are currently in sixth place in the WNBA standings.
